Team Resource Management (TRM) involves the implementation of strategies for the best use of all available resources: information, equipment and people to optimize the safety and efficiency of Air Traffic Services. It stems from the success of Crew Resource Management (CRM), used by flight crews since the 1990’s to improve the safety of operations by improving cooperation and reducing human errors. . It enables participants to identify the teamwork issues and principles of TRM that can influence human error and impact on safety. The TRM course is a 5-day (25 hours) interactive course in which a qualified facilitator imparts knowledge and principles to ATS personnel, to enhance team performance through the empowerment of individuals to protect the system and improve the safety performance of team members. Teamwork principles are reinforced by engaging the group in activities that promote cooperation and assertiveness in the context of ATC operations.
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
Team Resource Management (TRM) training focuses on educating ATCOs, Watch Supervisors and Management to understand how the impacts of human error can be minimized while maximizing team performance in ATS operations, through a better understanding of the principles of human error and teamwork.
Virtual Classroom or Onsite
Overall minimum score of 70% is mandatory for passing the Mastery Test.
A GAA certificate will be issued upon successful completion
