Gulf Aviation Academy announces signing an agreement with Go Air, a domestic airline based in India, to offer A320 pilot training services at its facilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
GAA’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Dhaffer Al Abbasi, and Head of Finance and Account, Mr. Binu Thomas, attended the signing ceremony. “GAA is glad to become a training partner of choice of a well-established company such as Go Air for their current and future training requirements”, commented Capt. Dhaffer Al Abbasi. GAA has worked closely with the authorities in India the past several weeks and have recently received the DGCA Accreditations on its A320 FFS devices.
Commenting on the tie-up, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Shauer said, “We are extremely pleased to have tied-up with GAA for our pilot training needs. With the induction of new aircrafts into our fleet from 2016, this will help us meet our needs for trained pilots.”
Currently owning two A320 Full Flight simulators, the pilot training that will be initially provided is only the first step towards a more beneficial arrangement between the two companies for a long term training plan. GAA’s wide range of facilities and services will be able to support the various requirements of the airline with the ability to customize training solutions according to their needs.
GAA is one of the few internationally certified training centres in the region and currently is an EASA ATO. Its facilities include 2 A320 FFS, 1 A330 FFS, and an Embraer E170/190 FFS currently being shifted to Amsterdam. The other facilities include Emergency Evacuation Training (EET), Wet Drill Training, Fire and Smoke Training, Cabin Service Mock-ups, and Air Traffic Control simulators. GAA’s different training courses are for and include pilots, cabin crew, Part 147 Engineering courses, Air Traffic controller and various ICAO certified aviation security courses.
