Target Group
The course is designed to guide you in the tasks and responsibilities to ensure that you are competent to perform your job function and be in full compliance with the regulations. It has been designed as per IATA’s DGR – section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.8 in IATA’s -Dangerous Goods Training Guidance.
Course Content
- Understanding the basics of dangerous goods
- Recognizing dangerous goods
- Identifying forbidden and hidden dangerous goods
- Manage dangerous goods pre and during the flight
- Content and interpretation of NOTOC
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and classify dangerous goods
- Interpret hazard communication
- Detect unpermitted dangerous goods in baggage
- Interpret NOTOCs
- Apply Emergency Procedures
Pre-requisites
- Recommended level is Entry-level and Intermediate
- The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 or the equivalent

Eligibility Criteria
- Airline and ground handling flight operations officers
- Operator’s and ground handling carrying a role of flight dispatcher
Delivery Method
- Classroom-based learning including lectures, exercises, case studies and final assessment
Examination
- The participant is required to score at least 80% to pass the mastery test
Certificate Awarded
The participant will be awarded with a GAA – IATA completion certificate upon successful completion of the course.
