Bahrain-based Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) was recognized as the Best Training Organization of the Year and the Best Trainer of the Year at Aviation Security Global Symposium & Awards 2019, one of the most important global aviation events in the world. More than 650 airline and aviation delegates, from over 50 countries attended the ceremony, which took place in Dubai. The awards were presented at the conference opening ceremony, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Shaikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, CEO of Emirates Airline Group.
The awards reflect the quality of the pioneering aviation security courses offered by GAA, which has been an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)-approved Aviation Security Training Center (ASTC) since 2014. The academy’s courses, delivered in Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan, and many other countries, include screening and security measures for both private and public organizations and businesses.
His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Gulf Aviation Academy Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed expressed his delight at the academy’s accomplishments, noting they reflect Bahrain’s commitment to providing world-class training in line with international standards and best practices.
HE the Minister added: “I congratulate GAA and its executive management for its achievement in being the leading national aviation and logistics academy in Bahrain, and for its exceptional performance which has enabled it to gain this global aviation security recognition. GAA’s training programs keep pace with the overall growth the Kingdom’s aviation sector has witnessed and with air transport developments at local and regional levels.”
GAA Chief Executive Officer Captain Dhaffer Al Abbasi said: “We are proud to receive these prominent awards, which recognize our regional and international performance within the aviation industry. Our long-term goal will always be to work towards excellence in the fields of aviation and logistics.”
Captain Dhaffer congratulated GAA Ground Services Training Officer Yousif Hasan on receiving the Best Trainer of the Year award, the latest in his long list of professional accomplishments, and wished him continued success.
GAA offers pilot, engineering, cabin crew, airport and ground handling staff, air traffic control, security and safety, and maritime training courses, as well as courses and workshops in soft skills, leadership, and management.
