GAA IATA’S ATS Approval

By July 19, 2020No Comments

MUHARRAQ, BAHRAIN:
Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) is pleased to announce that it has been accredited by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as an Accredited Training School (ATS).

This approval gives GAA the opportunity to undertake such program to all parties involved in the shipment of dangerous goods by air including airlines, freight forwarders, ground handlers, manufacturers, and shippers, whom have been working in areas of vital importance to the aviation industry especially in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Where ATS was only available in the UAE, GAA is glad to announce that it is the first academy in the Kingdom to get such approval from IATA to run ATS courses. Earlier participants had to visit different countries to be certified with such courses. This has changed now and GAA has made it easier for all participants to satisfy their requirements with undertaking such courses.

The contribution Bahrain has with Saudi Arabia with regards to such program will save all participants so much cost as for airline tickets, hotels, etc. where there will be no need to travel across countries to conduct such courses. This is a high considered step by GAA to benefit its participants.

QUOTE BY CAPTAIN DHAFFER AL ABBASI – CEO:

I am proud to announce Gulf Aviation Academy’s significant achievement for it to be the first Academy in Bahrain to get such accreditation approval from IATA.

This partnership with IATA authorizes GAA to deliver specialized Dangerous Goods training based on IATA’s guidelines, manuals and standards covering variety of topics which include Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), Infectious Substances Shipping Guidelines, and Shipping Medical Radioactive Material.

This program further broadens GAA services reach and makes courses available that the Kingdom is lacking and in need to support the aviation industry. GAA have their own qualified instructor which makes them more flexible in setting dates that suits everyone and gives all the interested participants the opportunity to register for such programs in Bahrain instead of travelling to other countries to do it.

I would like to thank IATA for showing confidence and trust in GAA and for giving us the opportunity to implement such achievement and meet other region’s aviation industry standards. We are excited to share our success and growth in making our country one of the main countries who run such accreditation.

I would also like to share this proud moment with the stakeholders at the Bahrain Civil Authorities (BCAA) for approving on such accreditation. This will be a direct benefit and contribution to the aviation industry in the GCC and Region, as well as for our Kingdom.

“IATA Training is proud to expand our collaboration with Gulf Aviation Academy to continue working together to deliver Dangerous Goods Training in the Bahrain market. It is imperative to prioritize training, especially in the heavily regulated areas of cargo and DGR where there is a strong need to have qualified staff to cope with the demands of the industry”.
