Course Overview
This Program deals with the necessary precautions to minimize the risk of fires aboard ship, how fires are caused and the first means of extinguishing them. Practical training in the use of fire fighting and use of breathing apparatus. This training meets with STCW standards and Flag state requirements.
The participants will acquire the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency required to minimize the risk of fire on board, maintain a state of readiness, respond to emergency situations involving fires and fight and extinguish fires using the means available on board.
Personnel working on:
A minimum written test score of 70%. Students that fail the test will undergo remediation and be allowed 1 retest. A second failure requires repeating the course before they may take the test again. Student must satisfactorily perform hands-on evolutions as required by USCG.
Upon completion of this course candidate will be awarded with the Certificate of Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Training. The certificate will be issued by GAA and is accepted by Bahrain’s Ports and Maritime Affairs Directorate
