To equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills and attitude required to successfully undertake the duties and responsibilities of Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), according to the requirements of the relevant international legislation as defined by the SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) Convention and the International Ship, Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code in section A/2.1.8 and section A/17.1), and in accordance with 3.21 of the IMO Model Course.
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
A basic understanding of port operations and basic security awareness on Port Facilities would be helpful, and Familiarization with ISPS code is recommended. However, there are no specific Pre-qualification requirements.
The certificate will be issued by GAA and is accepted by Bahrain’s Ports and Maritime Affairs Directorate.
