Course Overview
This course is designed for seafarer or/and Engine ratings who has decided to be part of Engine room watchkeeping team onboard vessel. This course meets with the compliance of STCW Section V and flag state requirements.
Candidates will learn about watch keeping requirement, periodic checks, repair and maintenance procedure, unmanned machinery duties, response to alarms and troubleshooting, emergency procedure and preparedness.
Personnel working on:
A minimum written test score of 70%. Students that fail the test will undergo remediation and be allowed 1 retest. A second failure requires repeating the course before they may take the test again. Student must satisfactorily perform hands-on evolutions as required by USCG.
Upon completion of this course candidate will be awarded with the Certificate of Proficiency in Engine Watch Keeping Course. The certificate will be issued by GAA and is accepted by Bahrain’s Ports and Maritime Affairs Directorate.
