Target Group
The course is designed to guide you in the tasks and responsibilities to ensure that you are competent to perform your job function and be in full compliance with the regulations. It has been designed as per IATA's DGR – section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.4 in IATA's -Dangerous Goods Training Guidance.
Course Content
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and classify dangerous goods
- Interpret hazard communication
- Detect hidden dangerous goods in cargo and mail
- Implement cargo pre-loading procedures
- Implement transporting, loading and unloading cargo/baggage to and from aircraft
- Explain the basic Emergency Response procedures
Course Objectives
- Understanding the basics of dangerous goods
- Recognizing dangerous goods
- Plan and prepare loading for aircraft
- Report dangerous goods accidents
- Manage dangerous goods pre and during flight
Pre-requisites
- Recommended level is Entry-level and Intermediate
- The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 or the equivalent

Eligibility Criteria
- Freight forwarder staff involved in the handling, storage and loading of cargo, mail or stores
- Operator and ground handling agent staff involved in the handling, storage and loading of cargo, mail or stores
- Airline and cargo training specialists
- Operations managers and frontline supervisors
Delivery Method
- Classroom-based learning including lectures, exercises, case studies and final assessment
Examination
- The participant is required to score at least 80% to pass the mastery test
Certificate Awarded
The participant will be awarded with a GAA – IATA completion certificate upon successful completion of the course.
