MUHARRAQ, BAHRAIN—
July 9, 2020 – Gulf Aviation Academy announces that it has received dual Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its new A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for the joint different A320ceo and A320neo engines types as well as UPRT training capabilities. This brings the total count of devices ready for this training to two and capable of handling regional high demand for it.
The new FFS device will now include training for the new engine types and will allow GAA to serve all the Middle Eastern carriers whom have recently taken delivery of their neo fleets in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, and others.
QUOTE BY CAPTAIN DHAFFER AL ABBASI – CEO:
We are pleased to have received this double seal of approvals on the dual aircraft types, as we are calling it at GAA a ‘2×2’ great win and honor. I would like to thank the relevant support from the stakeholders involved in getting these approvals in record time. I particularly would like to thank H.E. the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication, Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed, as well as the Gulf Air Group, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, and especially the BCAA for the full support in this specific project and overall to the success of GAA. Their unfaltering support to the academy’s ambitions is what allows GAA to better serve its client base.
QUOTE BY OSAMA AL SAYED – Senior Manager Strategic Planning:
This dual seal of ‘approval’ allows GAA to offer two new and distinct training products which is mandated by the operators. Although similar, the -ceo and -neo aircraft types have a shared cockpit but the newer engines means changes in limitations such as weight, speeds, time for engines to warm/cool, and other display properties that pilots need to train in in order to be professional on both types. With EASA’s approvals we can now offer a training product not only attractive to Bahrain and the GCC region but also to airlines based in Europe.
Deliveries of the A320neo and A321neos have started and we are ready to continue supporting our clients as they accept these aircrafts in their fleets, especially as Middle Eastern carriers have directly ordered more than 270 aircrafts. We are excited for GAA’s 2020 plans and will be sharing some more exciting news in the coming period
