The OJTI course is designed for licensed ATCOs appointed in the role of Training Officer in an operational environment or training academy. The course will equip the participant with the relevant knowledge, techniques and strategies to conduct training sessions and manage the interaction with the trainee during on-the-job training. Designed for qualified air traffic controllers, the course aims to cover all aspects of On the Job Training Instruction (OJTI). It teaches prospective OJTIs to prepare, train, monitor, and assess both trainees in an initial qualification programme, as well as qualified controllers fulfilling Unit competency requirements. On completion of this course the participant will have the required knowledge, skills and attitudes (KSA’s) necessary to perform the role of OJTI for license endorsement purposes.
